Anton Lundell’s Breakout Season Could Land Him Spot on Finland’s Four Nations Roster
Anton Lundell has hit is stride at a perfect time. After the best stretch of his career helped him and the Florida Panthers win a Stanley Cup, he could land the opportunity to play for his country.
FORT LAUDERDALE — With a breakout 2024-25 campaign, Anton Lundell has given himself just as good of a shot as anybody to crack Finland’s roster for the NHL’s Four Nations Face-Off in February.
Through 21 games this season, the 23-year-old forward has seven goals and 16 points after being a key piece to Florida’s Stanley Cup run last year.
But while the Espoo native awaits the final decision on Finland’s roster to be announced on Dec. 4, he is just focused on doing everything he can to help the Panthers win.
“Obviously, it would be a huge honor to be able to play for our country. And that’s the main goal,” Lundell told Pucks and Palms.
“Obviously, my thoughts are here. I’m 100 percent focused on the Panthers, and when they announce the team I hope my name will be there, and that’s all I can do right now. Just helps he team win as much as I can here and make sure we win some more games.”
The Panthers have certainly trusted Lundell to help them win in some important situations.
