While the NHL’s schedule release day is nowhere near the event it is for the NFL, it is an important date on the league calendar. For the Panthers, a team with more of a travel burden than almost any other in the East, they can start to plan all of the intricacies they need to keep their players healthy and sharp over a long regular season grind. Their ability to manage it so well is part of the secret to their playoff success and overall longevity. Since the Panthers staff is no doubt doing a similar exercise behind the scenes, particularly with Matthew Tkachuk’s immediate future still cloudy, why don’t we do a little of it here?
