Florida Panthers: Lines, Updates, Preview for Stanley Cup Final, Game 2 vs. Edmonton Oilers
Can the Panthers get a split in Alberta before coming home?
After a tough loss in Game 1, the Panthers will try and rebound to get a split before heading home. It was their first loss in 32 playoff games under Paul Maurice when leading after any period. Losing always brings about adversity, but losing in the way they did in Game 1 brings about even more of a challenge.
Tomas Nosek was guilty of the delay of game penalty that lead to Leon Draisaitl’s power play goal, but he says he’s not worried about that lingering for him or the team.
“You don’t want to be the one that costs us the game, but obviously, everybody can make a mistake you know.” Nosek said. “It happened in a bad time in overtime, and it cost us the game, but it’s in the past and now we’re looking forward to just keep doing my job and focusing on tonight’s game.”
The Oilers had 15 high danger shots on goal compared to six for the Panthers in Game 1, and that’s certainly one of the areas the Panthers will want to address.
Aleksander Barkov once again kept his message simple before the game.
“We know what we can do better, and we’re concentrated on that.”
