Florida Panthers: Lines, Updates, Preview for Jan. 25 Game at San Jose Sharks
Aaron Ekblad will make his return to the Florida Panthers lineup against the San Jose Sharks on Saturday night.
The Florida Panthers will be getting a key piece to their lineup back when they head to San Jose for the third game of their four-game West Coast road trip.
Aaron Ekblad will be making his return from a seven-game absence for Saturday night’s game against the Sharks.
Ekblad has two goals and 20 points in 41 games this season. He will return to the top defense pair next to Gustav Forsling and will likely resume his duties on the top power play unit.
Tobias Bjornfot, who was called up from AHL Charlotte earlier this month, remains on Florida’s roster but is expected to be scratched to make room for Ekblad’s return.
The Panthers went 2–3-2 in the seven consecutive games Ekblad missed. They are 3-4-2 in their last nine games, with Ekblad only playing in one of them — a 4-1 victory over the Utah Hockey Club on Jan. 8.
