The Florida Panthers and Toronto Maple Leafs will face-off in the second round of the playoffs for the second time in the past three seasons.
The Florida Panthers will be taking on the Toronto Maple Leafs in the second-round of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Florida last played Toronto in the postseason in 2023, defeating the Leafs in five games in the second round en route to a Stanley Cup Final appearance.
The Panthers won the regular season series between the two squads 3-1-0.
Florida comes into the series off of a five-game series win over the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Toronto defeated the Ottawa Senators in six games, clinching their spot in the second-round of the playoffs in a 4-2 victory. Max Pacioretty scored the game-winning goal with 5:39 to go after Toronto watched a two-goal lead slip away.
The Maple Leafs have three members from Florida’s 2024 Stanley Cup-winning team on their roster — Anthony Stolarz, Steven Lorentz and Oliver Ekman-Larsson. Stolarz has taken the mantle as Toronto’s starting goaltender and is 4-2 with a .901 save percentage and a 2.21 goals-against average.
William Nylander leads Toronto in both goals (3) and points (9), while Mitch Marner (8 points) and Auston Matthews (7 points) trail closely behind.
