Locker Room DJ A.J. Greer Finding His Groove With Florida Panthers On and Off the Ice
A.J. Greer was a natural choice for the team’s open gig as locker room DJ — he makes his own music, after all. And he’s found his groove both on and off the ice.
FORT LAUDERDALE — When A.J. Greer saw the aux cord in the team’s dressing room laying around unattended, the natural reaction for him was to go and pick it up.
After all, music has been a big part of his life.
When he’s not at the rink, he is mixing his own beats and making his own song — something he has been doing for a few years now.
Earlier in his career, Greer performed DJ sets at bars and clubs before transitioning into making music of his own.
He was the natural choice to take over the mantle from Brandon Montour, who left the gig wide open after departing to Seattle in free agency this summer.
“I did it for two years, and then I just didn’t like to be out at night in the clubs,” Greer told Pucks and Palms. “So, I quit that and started producing on my laptop at home, just making my own music versus mixing music. And I’ve been doing that for four years now, but I have a few songs out on Apple Muic and it’s been good. It’s just one of my hobbies, nothing crazy.”
Greer’s tenure as locker room DJ started off with some mixed reviews, but he has since turned it around.
