RECAP: New York Rangers 5, Florida Panthers 3
The Florida Panthers will officially start the 2025 postseason on the road after suffering a 5-3 loss to the New York Rangers.
SUNRISE, Fla. — The Florida Panthers failed to get a point against the New York Rangers on Monday night, and thus, will start the postseason on the road.
Florida can finish no higher than third in the division and will await one of the Tampa Bay Lightning or the Toronto Maple Leafs in the first round.
Vincent Trocheck blasted in a J.T. Miller feed on a one-timer 3:40 into the third period to put New York ahead and help secure the 5-3 victory for the Rangers.
J.T. Miller tied the game for New York with 4:05 to go in the third period, capping of a two-goal comeback for New York after Florida took a two-goal lead behind goals from Sam Reinhart and Carter Verhaeghe.
Reinhart scored twice on Monday — first scoring 2:22 into the game to give Florida the early lead — to bump his season total for goals up to 39.
Matt Rempe scored his third goal of the season off the rebound of a K’Andre Miller shot to tie the game up 8:43 into the first period.

Reinhart ripped home a snap shot off of a backhand feed from Aleksander Barkov with 6:06 to go in the second period to put the Panthers up by two goals.
New York scored the next four goals — starting with a Juuso Parssinen tip of a K. Miller shot with 4:05 to go in the second period — to give the Rangers the victory.
Jonny Brodzinski added the insurance marker with 1:52 to go to give the Rangers a two-goal cushion.
Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 20 of 25 shots in what will likely be his final start of the regular season.
The Panthers will conclude the regular season on the road on Tuesday night against the Lightning.
