After a summer of celebration, the Florida Panthers will start their Stanley Cup title defense with training camp on Thursday. And it does not make it any easier.

After a summer of champagne and celebration, the Florida Panthers will return to the ice for training camp on Thursday looking to defend their Stanley Cup title.
That won’t make Paul Maurice’s training camp any easier.
In fact, many around the team give Maurice’s rigorous training camp a lot of credit for the resolve this battle-tested Panthers team has had in its back-to-back Stanley Cup Final appearances in 2023 and 2024.
Whether or not that will subdue the collective groans when Maurice lines the pucks up at center ice to send his players off on laps remains to be seen.
But hey, they’ll appreciate it later. At least they did once they won that shiny, silver trophy.
