SUNRISE, Fla. — The Florida Panthers cruised their way to a 5-1 win against the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday afternoon.
After Landon Slaggert struck seven seconds into the game to put Chicago ahead, Florida took control of the game and never looked back. They outshot Chicago 22-3 for the remainder of the first period and took the lead behind two first-period goals.
Jonah Gadjovich struck 5:28 into his return to the lineup from injury, picking up a loose puck in front of the net and beating Petr Mrazek to tie the game. The Blackhawks challenged the goal for goaltender interference, but it was ruled a good goal upon review.
Sam Reinhart gave the Panthers the lead with 9:51 to go in the first, scoring his 30th goal of the season off of a feed from Aleksander Barkov.
